Radiative first-order phase transitions to next-to-next-to-leading order

چکیده

We develop new perturbative tools to accurately study radiatively induced first-order phase transitions. Previous methods have suffered internal inconsistencies and been unsuccessful in reproducing lattice data, which is often attributed infrared divergences of massless modes (the Linde problem). employ a consistent power counting scheme perform calculations compare our results against data. conclude that the expansion removes many previous issues indicates infamous problem not as big factor these previously thought.

Annihilation to Next-to-leading Order Accuracy *

We discuss the production of two hadrons in e + e − annihilation within the framework of perturbative QCD. The cross section for this process is calculated to next-to-leading order accuracy with a selection of variables that allows the consideration of events where the two hadrons are detected in the same jet. In this configuration we contemplate the possibility that the hadrons come from a dou...

Phase transition temperatures at next-to-leading order.

Broken gauge symmetries are typically restored at high temperature, and the leadingorder result for the critical temperature Tc was found many years ago by Weinberg and by Dolan and Jackiw. I find a simple expression for the next-to-leading order correction to Tc, which is order eTc where e is the gauge coupling. The result is a simple consequence of recent work on summing ring diagrams at high...

Compton scattering in next - to - leading order

We study the amplitude of deeply virtual Compton scattering in next-to-leading order of perturbation theory including the two-loop evolution effects for different sets of skewed parton distributions (SPDs). It turns out that in the minimal subtraction scheme the relative radiative corrections are of order 20-50%. We analyze the dependence of our predictions on the choice of SPD, that will allow...

BFKL at next-to-leading order

This is a summary of the contributions on the next-to-leading order corrections to the BFKL equation which were presented to the ‘Small-x and Diffraction’ working group at the 1998 Durham Workshop on HERA Physics. The original BFKL equation [1] allowed the computation of elastic scattering amplitudes in the Regge limit to leading logarithmic (LO) accuracy, i.e. all terms ∼ (αs ln s)n are summed...

Next-to-Leading-Order Event Generators

We review the methods developed for combining the parton shower approximation to QCD with fixed-order perturbation theory, in such a way as to achieve next-toleading-order (NLO) accuracy for inclusive observables. This has made it possible to generate fully-simulated hadronic final states with the precision and stability of NLO calculations. We explain the underlying theory of the existing meth...
